More and more workers are being mobilized on the line construction site. In accordance with the contractor's work plan, as time allows for the intensification of the works, the site is expanding to more localities, currently being over 80 kilometers long in total.
During the current week, ground assembly works of the pillars are being carried out, as well as the execution of the foundations.
According to the Minister of Energy, Dorin Junghietu, the teams of workers have been supplemented over the last two weeks with about 45 workers from Turkey, and another 15 specialists are to be additionally trained in the coming period. "I have called both the contractors and all parties involved in the development of the project to the Ministry. I have requested the provision of updated plans for the execution of the works and I have asked them to present them to us as soon as certain risks arise," Dorin Junghietu mentioned.
The compensation process for land related to the construction of the line has been extended to all 8 affected districts and is ongoing in 32 localities out of 34, with the overall payment percentage being approximately 80%. At the same time, access to the land for the construction works is provided in 29 localities out of 34.
According to the director of UCIPE, Ruslan Surugiu, the results recorded in the compensation process for the owners offer the possibility of providing access to the land in as many localities as possible, so that the contractor can expand the work sites, practically along the entire line.
We note that in accordance with the work plan agreed by all parties involved in the project, the energy independence line will be completed and connected to the infrastructure of Moldelectrica State Enterprise, through the Vulcănești Power Station and the Chișinău Power Station by the end of this year.
This project is being implemented by the Government of the Republic of Moldova, through the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Moldova and UCIPE - Energy Project Implementation Unit, with the support of the World Bank Group.
