In Congaz, the locality where the construction of the 400 kV Overhead Power Line on the Vulcănești–Chișinău route begins, foundation excavations for the first pylons are in full progress. As recently announced, after granting access to the site, starting from April 8, the team of workers was mobilized and the construction site was prepared for the commencement of the initial works.

Consequently, several teams of workers and specialized equipment have been mobilized on-site, with excavation works and geological testing underway so that construction works can soon expand simultaneously to multiple locations.

Starting in May, the site is planned to be expanded to up to seven locations.

It should be noted that the new Overhead Power Line will have a length of 158 km and will cross eight districts of the country. The line is very important for the country’s energy security and will have a capacity capable of supplying approximately 50% of the country's electricity consumption during peak load periods. The contract value is approximately 27 million euros, financed by the World Bank through the Power System Development Project.
