Representatives of about 17 construction companies from the country and abroad were informed about the opportunities to participate in energy efficiency projects, through the rehabilitation of public buildings in the Republic of Moldova.
The information workshop was held in the context of the implementation of the Energy Efficiency Project in the Republic of Moldova.
During the event, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Carolina Novac, mentioned the importance of energy efficiency projects for the country, currently, being in the process of launching and implementing several projects in the field.
"The potential is great, there are opportunities for local and international companies to get involved in the modernization of public infrastructure, but also the creation of new jobs".
The Director of UCIPE, Ruslan Surugiu, mentioned that the purpose of the event is to attract companies with experience in the field and to inform potential bidders about the project, the types of works envisaged, as well as the method of participation and application in the works tenders, since in the coming months the tenders for the rehabilitation works of the first medical institutions within the project will already be launched.
The Energy Efficiency Project in the Republic of Moldova is implemented by the Government of the Republic of Moldova, through the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Moldova and UCIPE - the Energy Projects Implementation Unit, with the support of the European Union, the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
As part of the project, 10 medical institutions are to be energetically rehabilitated, with a cumulative area of approximately 200 thousand m2.
