The Infectious Diseases Building of the Florești District Hospital s among the public buildings selected for renovation through the INSPIREE Initiative to Nurture Sustainable Public Infrastructure through Renovations for Energy Efficiency Project.
Built in 1984, the building has never undergone major renovation and is currently one of the least energy-efficient facilities within the hospital campus. The outdated infrastructure directly affects indoor comfort, working conditions for medical staff, and the overall environment for patient care.
The building is part of a healthcare campus covering 6.9 hectares on the outskirts of Florești. Often described as a small “medical town”, the hospital serves residents of Florești as well as patients from neighboring districts, including Soroca, Bălți, Șoldănești and Telenești. Modernizing this facility is therefore an important step towards improving healthcare infrastructure and services in the region.
Through the INSPIREE Project, the building is one of 30 public facilities across Moldova that will benefit from energy-efficiency investments. Of these, 14 are healthcare institutions.
In the next phase of the project, all beneficiary buildings will undergo detailed energy audits and technical assessments. These evaluations will help identify the most effective energy-efficiency measures and establish the scope of future renovation works.
The INSPIREE Project will be implemented between 2025 and 2031, contributing to more sustainable, resilient and energy-efficient public infrastructure across Moldova.
