Several educational institutions across the Republic of Moldova – mainly student dormitories – will undergo energy-efficient renovation under the INSPIREE Project – Initiative for Sustainable Public Infrastructure Development through Energy Efficiency Renovations. Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for the project’s implementation have been signed with all partner vocational and technical education institutions.
The beneficiary institutions are as follows:

Representatives of the beneficiary institutions emphasized that the project has been long awaited, as the targeted buildings require major renovation and energy efficiency improvements.
At the same time, MEPIU Director Ruslan Surugiu highlighted the importance of continued cooperation and support from beneficiary institutions throughout the project, while presenting the main planned works: “The selected buildings will undergo thermal insulation of walls and roofs, modernization of heating and ventilation systems, replacement of electrical equipment, and installation of efficient systems for hot water and heat generation.”
In total, 30 public buildings (14 buildings of district hospitals and 16 buildings of higher education institutions) across the country will undergo full renovation to become more modern, comfortable, and energy efficient.
The INSPIREE project is implemented by the Government of the Republic of Moldova through the Ministry of Energy and MEPIU, with support from the French Development Agency (EUR 30.0 million loan) and the Federal Government of Germany (EUR 38.7 million grant) through the German Development Bank KfW.
The signing of collaboration agreements with institutions in the healthcare sector – covering 14 additional buildings included in the project – will take place in the coming period.
