Acting Director of UCIPE Presents Ongoing Projects at the Sectoral Council on External Assistance in the Energy Sector, Ruslan Surugiu, Acting Director of the Consolidated Unit for Implementation and Monitoring of Energy Projects (UCIPE), participated on Friday, June 30, in the Sectoral Council meeting for external assistance in the energy sector for the second quarter.
The event brought together representatives from donor organizations, ambassadors, financial institutions, and implementing agencies active in the energy sector of the Republic of Moldova.
During the meeting, the UCIPE Director presented ongoing projects, the implementation status of investment packages, the objectives pursued, as well as the unit’s priority areas of activity: energy efficiency, modernization of the centralized thermal energy supply system, diversification of energy production sources, and the modernization of infrastructure for the production and delivery of thermal and electric energy.
In this context, Ruslan Surugiu highlighted the following key projects:
- The Energy Efficiency Project in the Republic of Moldova
- The Second Project for Improving the Efficiency of the Centralized Thermal Energy Supply System in Chișinău (PIESACET-2)
- The Power System Development Project (PDSE)
Mr. Surugiu also noted that these ongoing projects reflect the Moldovan Government’s and development partners’ response to ensure energy security during periods of crisis and energy transition.
The meeting was organized by the Ministry of Energy with the support of the program “Addressing the Impact of the Energy Crisis in the Republic of Moldova,” funded by the European Union.
