The administrators of approximately 100 apartment buildings in the capital, which will benefit from individual thermal points (PTIs) for heating and hot water preparation, have been informed about the ongoing works, upcoming stages, as well as the advantages residents will enjoy starting this autumn.
During information sessions organized by the Consolidated Unit for Implementation and Monitoring of Energy Projects (UCIPE), in partnership with Termoelectrica S.A., mechanisms and measures to prevent social and environmental impacts during the preparation of rooms and installation of equipment were also presented.
In the course of discussions, residents’ representatives raised several questions regarding the subsequent operation of the installations and were informed that buildings currently lacking domestic hot water will be able to restore the hot water supply system since the installations are equipped with heat exchangers — one for heating and another for hot water.
Recall that an Individual Thermal Point (PTI) is a complex of modern installations that ensures the transfer of thermal energy from the centralized heating system to the building’s internal systems for heating, ventilation, and domestic hot water preparation.
Advantages for residents include:
- Individual heating connection at the block level;
- Setting and adjusting the temperature as needed via the control panel;
- Automatic adjustment of thermal energy consumption based on the outdoor air temperature;
- Preparation of hot water directly in the building’s basement with instantaneous delivery at the set temperature;
- Uniform distribution of thermal energy throughout the building.
The Ministry of Energy’s strategy is to install individual thermal points in all buildings connected to the centralized heating system to improve the quality of heating services, reduce thermal energy consumption, and enhance energy efficiency.
This year, 147 Individual Thermal Points have been installed in about 100 apartment buildings in the capital, including 3 kindergartens. This investment package is part of the Project for Improving the Efficiency of the Centralized Heating Supply System in Chișinău (PIESACET-2), financed by the World Bank.
