The Acting Director of the Consolidated Unit for Implementation and Monitoring of Energy Projects (UCIPE), Ruslan Surugiu, met with the Head of the European Investment Bank (EIB) office in the Republic of Moldova, Alberto Carlei, accompanied by the Senior Credit Officer at EIB, Stella Renița, as well as with the Lead Banker at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Alexandru Cosovan.
The meetings aimed to introduce and establish cooperation priorities in the context of the appointment of the new acting director of UCIPE. Additionally, the discussions focused on the implementation of energy infrastructure projects, specifically the "Energy Efficiency in the Republic of Moldova" Project.
During the meetings, the parties discussed the implementation status of the Project, as well as the next steps concerning the approval of the Procedures Manual, signing of the Project Implementation Agreement, approval of the audit reports for buildings, followed by the launch of tenders for contracting services to develop technical execution documentation, as well as other important topics.
As a result, it was agreed to establish a list of priorities for the upcoming period to consolidate efforts regarding the implementation of the Project, as well as to identify opportunities for collaboration and support.
We remind that the "Energy Efficiency in the Republic of Moldova" Project is one of the largest and most important energy efficiency projects at the national level, implemented with the support of the European Union, the European Investment Bank (EIB), and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The Project aims at the energy rehabilitation of public institution buildings in the Republic of Moldova, with the first phase covering 16 buildings within 10 republican medical institutions.
