The energy audit of the beneficiary institutions of the project “Energy Efficiency in the Republic of Moldova” is currently being developed, with documentation visits conducted at the last three public institutions out of the nine selected during the first phase of the project implementation.
The documentation visits as part of the energy audit for the beneficiary institutions of the “Energy Efficiency in the Republic of Moldova” project took place between December 13 and 19 at the Institute of Emergency Medicine, the Mother and Child Institute, and the Bălți Clinical Hospital. The purpose of these visits was to collect relevant data and information for the preparation of the energy audit reports.
The energy audit reports are scheduled to be completed by February 2023 and will include information on the current condition assessment of building envelopes and engineering systems, analysis of recorded energy resource consumption, as well as estimation of the potential for energy savings through the presentation of technical and/or organizational measures. These will also include the technical and economic feasibility analysis.
Phase I of the “Energy Efficiency in the Republic of Moldova” project aims to improve energy efficiency in nine public institutions. The project will involve rehabilitation works on building envelopes, renovation of interior lighting systems, heating, cooling, and ventilation systems to make them more energy efficient by integrating renewable energy sources and introducing efficient energy management practices.
The total project value is approximately 76.9 million euros, of which 30 million euros are allocated by the European Investment Bank (EIB), 30 million euros by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), 15 million euros from the European Union, 0.5 million euros from the Eastern Partnership Technical Assistance Trust Fund (EPTATF), and 1.4 million euros from the Government of the Republic of Moldova.
The project implementation period is 2022–2025.
